A first aid-kit should always be included when planning any trip. Flashlights, matches, a fire starter and knife are also essential outdoor camping gear items that will be used throughout the journey. When packing a tent, ensure that it is durable and waterproof, same goes for your sleeping bag. A water filter or water purification tablets are important as it will save you from carrying bottles of water.
